KTK Martial Arts is renowned for the quality of its instructors and excellent teaching techniques.
Chief Instructor
Sylvain Aubé Sensei, 5th Dan, is a direct student of Sensei Yutaka Katsumata, 8th Dan. He is a karateka of international level. He has trained extensively with several key Masters in karate: Sensei Hidetaka Nishiyama, a direct student of Master Gichin Funakoshi, founder of Shotokan karate traditional. In July 2007, Sylvain earned his Grade B International Referee from the International Traditional Karate Federation (ITKF) in kata and kumite. Sylvain has a bachelor in science, physical education and has been teaching police techniques at Cegep and martial arts classes at the University of Ottawa. Sylvain is devoted to the transmission of karate as a method of self-defense and budo concepts of karate.
Chief Instructor (Aylmer Dojo)
Sensei Adamira Tijerino-Aubé loves teaching karate and assisting all of the students in achieving their goals. She trains regularly with Master Yutaka Katsumata Sensei and has participated in several international seminars. Her previous teaching background as a Criminology professor enables her to teach in an engaging and structured manner. She also founded the KTK Aylmer dojo in September 2016. Adamira is passionate about finding ways to maximize the full individual potential of each student.
Adolescents Karate - Instructors
The KTK instructors train under Sensei Sylvain Aubé.
They are all passionate about traditional karate and transmit its techniques to karatekas at the dojo.
Instructor
James has been practicing karate since he was 7 years old. He is an exceptional athlete and is part of the Elite Competition Team. He won the silver medal at the Pan American Games which took place in Gatineau in August 2017 and at the Montreal International Open in May 2018. He graduated from St-Alexandre College and Collège Universel, He is now a student in the program of Law from the University of Ottawa. James is a role model for all the children at KTK in terms of academic and athletic excellence.
Instructor
Chloé trains with passion and tirelessly. She is part of the Elite Competition Team as an expert in kata and combat. She participates in all provincial refresher workshops and all regional and provincial competitions. Chloé is endearing and is loved by all the students. She is recognized for her leadership, as well as her technical and teaching skills. She is a source of inspiration for all the children at KTK. She is a university student in elementary education and is now part of the prestigious Canadian National Team. She participated in the Pan American Championship in Santiago, Chile.
Instructor
Rafael is a karateka passionate about high-level training. He takes advantage of every opportunity to train and perfect his knowledge. He has been a member of the Quebec team since 2022 and he continues to aspire to the highest steps of the podium. He is currently a student in Police Techniques at Cégep de l’Outaouais. He completed his coaching training with the National Coaching Program. He now shares his passion and knowledge with all KTK students.
Instructor
Mehdi has been practicing karate for several years. Very talented and respectful, he obtained his belt at the age of 15. He trains regularly and diligently. He developed leadership skills at KTK that made him an instructor well respected by students. He has become a model for our young generation. He trains with the competition team and participates in several major competitions.
