Karate for Kids - Competitions
KTK is able to provide students a wide range of competition opportunities: from local, provincial, national to international competitions. KTK is also proud to have an established Junior and Elite Competition teams, which provides additional learning experiences to students who wish to compete at the provincial and international level.
Students, in particular beginners, are offered the opportunity to participate in the local competitions led by KTK. This is a prestigious event that is held twice a year (May and November) and provides all students with a great opportunity to engage in a “Friendly competition” environment. Competitors are classified by age and grade and can compete in individual kata.
Through our network of karate competitions, the members of the Junior and Elite team can participate in regional competitions that include kata and/or kumite.
There are several provincial competitions organized by Karate Quebec. Our Elite Competition Team members have the unique opportunity to learn how to handle stress and perform in a more demanding environment.
Elite athletes can also participate in the selection process with Karate Quebec to represent the province at the National Championships.
At the higher level, students can participate in Pan Am and International Championships, as well as the International Montreal Open organized by Karate Quebec under the World Karate Federation.
