Sylvain Aubé teaches police techniques at CEGEP and also teaches on a contract basis for the School of Human Kenetics at the University of Ottawa. He has been teaching the art of Jiu-Jitsu and grappling for the past 15 years. He is passionate about Jiu-Jitsu due to its effective self-defence techniques in hand-to-hand combat.
In order to maintain the highest technical standards, Sylvain continues to train regularly with the best BJJ international renowned instructors. All KTK students have access to training seminars with Gracie’s greatest Jiu-Jitsu masters and World Champions. Sylvain is passionate about sharing his passion for Jiu-Jitsu with his students.

Serge Tshimanga has been a member of KTK since 2010. He is passionate about martial arts, mainly Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu. His main interest lies in his willingness to contribute to the well-being of others. He actively participates in training seminars with international renowned instructors. In addition to being an excellent instructor, Serge has participated in several Jiu-Jitsu competitions, including the Ottawa Open and the Ottawa International Ju-Jitsu Tournament, where he has climbed the top of the podium each time.
Jean-Claude has been practicing Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu since 2009 and received his purple belt in 2019. He also has 2 years of free wrestling practice. He actively participates in seminars and has received lessons from renowned black belts such as Renzo Gracie, Roger Gracie, Igor Gracie, Rolles Gracie, Braulio Estima, Bruno Fernandes, Firas Zahabi, Pat Cooligan and Matt Hache to name some. 2-time Gold Medalist in the Masters “Super Pesado” Gi and “No-Gi” category of the Ottawa BJJ Open Tournament. Jean-Claude has many years of experience as a trainer and manager for a national telecommunications company. He is passionate about Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu and loves to share his passion with the members of the KTK family, including his own children.
Nicolas Francoeur has been practicing Jiu-Jitsu since 2014. He has participated in several seminars with Matt Haché, Rolles Gracie and Pat Cooligan. He was awarded his blue belt in June 2017 and is now Assistant Instructor. He is a big fan of Jiu-Jitsu for its many benefits, such as fitness, self-defence and self-esteem. It is a privilege for him to pass on his knowledge to the young Jiu-Jitsu students and share his passion with them.
At a young age Mathew trained in several martial arts and discovered his passion for Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu. While training Jiu-Jitsu at KTK, he found an atmosphere in which everyone grows mutually. He now teaches Jiu-Jitsu classes for children and finds this as a way to give back to KTK that gives so much to his community. As an instructor, Mathew brings with him several years of youth animation experience, other self-defence techniques and his career experience as a massage therapist specializing in sports clinics.
